16.01 Wonderful Wildflowered Miles

So I broke my no-drinking-till-Jemez rule last night. I blame it on the slowest waiter in the world at Mateo. Either way, I had a big night and paid for it today.

I felt like a total bag of shit this entire run. Just sluggish and winded. Luckily this was a recovery week so I didn’t have to slog through too many miles, just 16 on Mesa.

And even though I felt ugly, the trail was beautiful and blooming with all sorts of wildflowers. I don’t remember it ever looking this good out there.
